After meeting with you and getting a feel for your brand, I can appreciate your love for empowering women. What makes empowerment so important to you?
Women empowerment has always been important to me. It's heartbreaking to see men be so negative towards women, and even women tearing other women down. I just want to be an example, and show people that women can have successful relationship and there not be a competition. We all have our own lanes, and we should not be intimidated by the next woman. There's enough success for all of us! I want to encourage women to be comfortable and confident in their own skin so that they can create their own opportunities.
You have been labeled as a mindset coach. What does a mindset coach do for a client and what is the benefit of that service?
I remember after having my daughter I became really down about my weight gain, and it came to a point where I did not want to do anything about it. I could not get motivated to workout and my mindset was just all over the place. After a lot of prayer and soul searching I came across the book The Desire Map: A Guide to Creating Goals with Soul by Danielle LaPorte, and it made a huge impact on my life. I then began to realize that I can really do anything that I put my mind to, and the only person who is stopping me is me. A lot of people do not realize that they are the ones blocking their own success. In order to be successful you have to have the right mindset. This is often hard for some people. They have trouble visualizing their success, because of underlying issues they have with themselves. As a Mindset Coach I will help you find the origin of why you feel the way you do, and together we identify steps to get you to where you want to be.
With my clients we get clear on what it is they want to accomplish, and we create action steps to help them get there. When issues arise such as doubt, fear, or confusion we talk about it, and take steps to work past it.
You shared with me that you built your website yourself and you operate it as well, what advice would you give any entrepreneur that wants to take on that task to create and operate their own website?
Building my own website was not an easy task, but seeing the end result was one of the best feelings ever. Building a website takes a lot of time, effort, and trial and error.
- Set clear goals for your website, and make sure everything aligns with your brand. Set a deadline for the completion of your website, but understand that a website can take at least a month depending on the complexity of it.
- Create a mood board for your goal website. Include colors, patterns, and inspiration that correlate.
- Watch tutorial videos to get some understanding of how the platform you are working with works.
- Trust the process, have fun, and be positive. Building a website can be time consuming and frustrating at times, but I promise it is well worth it.
What would be your advice to another woman who may be thinking of starting their own business and what are some steps you think they should take to get ready?
There are a few tips to prepare to start a business.
⁃ Do research, make sure there is a need for your product or service.
⁃ Be sure that this is something you want to do. Starting and running a business is not easy, but it is so rewarding. It's always easier to start a business when it's something that you are passionate about.
⁃ Define what will set your business apart from others. We're all unique and bring something different to the table. Even if you and someone else have a similar business, that's ok we all take a different approach to things.
⁃ Find out the upfront cost to start your business, and be sure to consider fees that come with registering with the state and the licenses you may. You will also want to consider the price of the products you will have to buy upfront or the materials you will use.
⁃ Most importantly, be confident in the product or service you will offer. People will not be able to believe in your product or service if you don't.
When it comes to marketing, what has been the best vehicle to get your message across and really draw in your audience? Social media, video, speaking engagements….
Social media has been a huge help when it comes to building brand awareness. From consistency posting, to going live, creating content that my audience needs, and a few speaking engagements I have been able to network and work with some amazing women.
What are you future goals for “Hello Briana” and how can people support your movement?
My goal for HelloBriana Consulting LLC is to empower women, and teach them everything I know. I want women to know and believe that they can do whatever it is they put their mind to, and there are no limits. I want to spread positivity, offer high quality services that female entrepreneurs and business owners can trust, and build a network of motivated women who can connect and network.
